This article explains how to prepare your device, enable recommended settings, and complete the initial setup of the Aircall Workspace mobile app in your iOS device.
iOS version requirements
Before downloading the app, make sure your device is running a supported version of iOS.
Important: Aircall supports iOS 16.1 and later. Devices running earlier versions of iOS are not supported.
Enable automatic app updates
To ensure you always have access to the latest features and fixes, Aircall recommends enabling automatic app updates on your device.
Steps:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
-
Tap App Store
- In the Automatic downloads section, enable App updates.
Keeping automatic updates enabled helps prevent issues caused by outdated app versions.
App permissions
During setup, Aircall will request several permissions that are required for the app to function correctly.
Microphone
Aircall requires access to your microphone to make and receive calls. This permission must be enabled for calling features to work.
Push notifications
Push notifications allow you to:
- Receive alerts for inbound calls.
- See missed calls.
- Be notified of new voicemails.
Contacts
Granting access to contacts allows Aircall to display your local device contacts within the Contacts section of the app.
Note: Contacts access is optional, but enabling it makes it easier to identify callers and start conversations from your local contact list.
Denying microphone permission
If microphone access is denied, you will still be able to open the app. However, you will be prompted to allow microphone access before you can make or receive calls.
Important: Calls cannot be placed or received until microphone permission is enabled.
Getting started
Once your setup is complete and permissions are enabled, you are ready to start using Aircall Workspace mobile app.
Steps:
- Open the Aircall Workspace app.
- Navigate to the Keypad page.
- Enter a phone number or select a contact to start dialing.
You can now place and receive calls directly from the iOS mobile app.
