The SMS Automation feature in the monday.com V2 integration allows you to automatically send SMS messages from Aircall based on actions and updates in your monday.com boards. To start using this feature, you must first enable and configure SMS Automation in your Aircall integration settings, then connect it with a Webhook App in monday.com.
Configure SMS Automation in Aircall
After installing the monday.com V2 integration, you can configure SMS Automation in the Aircall Admin Dashboard.
Steps:
- Log in to the Aircall Admin Dashboard --> select Integrations & API.
- In the My Integrations section, search for your installed monday.com integration (either the default or custom name).
- Click the integration tile to open it, then go to Settings.
- In Settings, open the SMS Automation tab.
- Enable SMS Automation by toggling the Enable SMS Automation button, then click Save changes.
Add a new SMS Automation rule
- Click Add New Automation Rule.
- Select the monday.com board that contains your contacts, and choose the Phone Number and Contact Name columns.
- Select the SMS-enabled Aircall number to send messages from.
- Enter the SMS text (up to 1600 characters).
- Click Generate Webhook to create a Webhook URL.
- Click Save changes to save your automation rule.
Tip: You can personalize your SMS by including the contact name variable {{ContactNameColumnValue}} anywhere in the message. This variable will automatically be replaced with the contact’s name from the selected board when the SMS is sent.
Once the rule is added, click Copy to copy the generated Webhook URL. You will use this URL to set up the Webhook App in monday.com.
Set up the Webhook App in monday.com
To trigger SMS Automation, you must connect the Webhook URL to a monday.com board using the Webhook App.
Steps:
- Log in to your monday.com account.
- Select the board where you want to set up the Webhook App.
Important: The selected board must include a contact’s phone number for Aircall to send the SMS.
- On the chosen board, click Automate, then search for Webhook.
- Choose one of the following Webhook automation recipes:
- When any column changes, send a Webhook
- When an item is created, send a Webhook
- When a status changes to something, send a Webhook
- When a column changes, send a Webhook
-
Paste the copied Webhook URL into the Webhook URL field and click Connect.
- Configure the selected recipe and click Create Automation.
Your automation recipe will now be active on the selected board.
How it works
When the configured recipe is triggered (for example, when an item is created or a status changes), monday.com sends a Webhook event to Aircall. Based on this event:
- Aircall identifies the customer linked to the triggered recipe.
- Aircall retrieves the customer’s phone number and name from the SMS Automation rule.
- An SMS message is automatically sent to the customer from the selected SMS-enabled number.
Important:
• You can create multiple SMS Automation rules.
• You can set up multiple recipes on the same monday.com board using one or more Webhook URLs.
• SMS Automation rules can be combined with Tag-based Automation rules for advanced workflows.
• The monday.com board must contain both the contact’s phone number and name.
• Phone numbers must follow the format +1 123 456 7890. Incorrect formats can cause automation failures.
• All SMS messages are subject to Aircall’s standard messaging limits and best practices.

Note: All SMS messages sent from the selected SMS-enabled numbers can be viewed in the Conversation section of Aircall Workspace.
