When participating in a conference call in Aircall Workspace, recordings are not stored on every individual call leg. Instead, the conference recording is associated with the main call where the conference was initiated. Understanding this behavior helps you quickly locate the correct recording in Aircall Workspace.

How conference calls are created

When adding participants to a conference call in Aircall Workspace, you can conference with:

  • A teammate

  • A saved contact

  • A manually entered phone number

Each added participant is connected through an outbound call that joins the ongoing conference.

Where the recording is stored

When you conference a call to a saved contact or an external number, Aircall generates a new outbound call that is separate from the original call.

Important: Outbound calls created to add participants to a conference do not contain call recordings.

The recording for the entire conference call is always tied to the main call, which is the original call where the conference was initiated.

Find the recording in Aircall Workspace

Steps:

  1. Go to the Calls or Conversations tab and open the relevant conversation or call entry.

  2. Identify the main call that started the conference.

  3. Open the main call details.

  4. Play or download the recording from that call.

Separate outbound calls created to add participants will appear in the conversation, but they will not contain recordings.
