When using the Aircall Workspace mobile app, calls are placed over your WiFi or mobile data connection. If you experience poor call quality due to network issues, you can use the Switch to Carrier network feature. This option allows you to transfer the call to your mobile carrier’s network for a more stable connection.

What the Switch to Carrier network feature does

With this feature, you can transfer calls directly to your mobile device through your carrier’s service instead of relying on WiFi or mobile data.

You can:

  • Link your carrier number when prompted by a network warning during a call.
  • Link your carrier number from the home page if you receive a network warning.
  • Initiate a transfer to your carrier network directly from the network warning banner.

How to enable the feature

To set up the Switch to Carrier Network option, users have two ways to do so:

  • They can enable it directly from the Settings menu - this is the primary method currently highlighted.

Steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Preferences > Calling > Link your Carrier Network.
  2. Enter the phone number for the mobile device where you are using the Aircall Workspace mobile app.
  3. Select Save.

  • Alternatively, users can also activate the feature when they receive a prompt during a call, offering a quick and convenient setup option in real time.

How to use the feature

Once enabled, you can transfer calls to your carrier network while on a call.

Steps:

  1. During a call, select Transfer.
  2. Choose Switch to Carrier Network.
  3. Click the banner notification.
Tip: Using the Transfer option ensures a reliable call experience, especially in areas with unstable or limited internet connectivity.

Note: Users will hear and see a prompt when they have low bandwidth. If they click the banner, the call will be transferred.

Useful tips

Important: Calls switched to your carrier network are treated the same as calls transferred to an external number.
  • Advanced Aircall Workspace features will not be available once the call is transferred.
  • Calls will be considered outbound, even if they began as inbound calls.
  • You may be charged for outbound minutes by Aircall or for international calls by your mobile provider, depending on your plans and the numbers dialed.
  • In the Call History section of the Aircall Workspace app, this type of transfer will not appear like a traditional transfer.
