This article explains how to submit a number porting request for UK mobile numbers directly from the Aircall Dashboard. The process is self-service and completed in a few steps. Porting a UK number typically takes up to 6 weeks after your documentation is validated.
What is number porting?
Number porting allows you to transfer your existing phone numbers from another carrier to Aircall without changing the numbers. Your team and customers continue using the same numbers while benefiting from Aircall features.
Availability
Self-service porting in the Aircall Dashboard is available for UK mobile numbers. To port UK geographic, national or toll-free numbers, open a support ticket and Aircall will manage the process for you.
Note: Self-service porting is also available for US, Canada, French, Australian and Spanish mobile numbers. See [Submitting a US or Canada porting request via the Aircall Dashboard](https://support.aircall.io/en-gb/articles/35215796339997), [How to submit a French number porting request in the Aircall Dashboard](https://support.aircall.io/en-gb/articles/38889018992413), [How to submit a Spanish number porting request in the Aircall Dashboard]([SPANISH_ARTICLE_URL]) and [How to submit an Australian number porting request in the Aircall Dashboard]([AUSTRALIA_ARTICLE_URL]).
Before you start
Preparing accurate information is essential. Missing or incorrect details are the most common cause of delays or rejections.
Get your PAC
A Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) is required to port a UK mobile number. Request it from your current provider before you start. Without it, the port cannot proceed. You can request your PAC by texting “PAC” to 65075 or by contacting your current provider directly. Your PAC remains valid for 30 days before it expires.
For the full list of documents and information required for UK mobile numbers, see Number porting requirements by country.

Submit a porting request via the Aircall Dashboard
Step 1: Numbers to port
- Go to Aircall Dashboard > Numbers > Porting requests.
- Click Port a number, then click Start porting request.
- Enter a porting request name you can easily recognise, for example “London mobile (Oct 2026)”.
- Select United Kingdom as the Country.
- Enter your current carrier, the provider you are leaving.
- Enter the numbers to port in E.164 format, one per line.
- Click Validate. A successful validation confirms the numbers can be ported. There is no preferred porting date for UK mobile numbers. The final date is set through coordination between your current provider and Aircall’s carrier.
Note: Country, carrier, and numbers cannot be changed after this step.
Step 2: Account details
- Enter the Porting Authorisation Code (PAC).
- Enter the Legal company name, exactly as registered with your current carrier.
- Enter the Authorised contact name.
- Enter the Account number from your carrier’s invoice.
- Optionally add the Security PIN.
- Optionally upload a Customer Service Record (CSR) (PDF, up to 3 MB).
- Click Next.
Step 3: Service address
- Enter the address registered with your current carrier. The country is pre-filled with United Kingdom.
- Enter the city and the postcode (for example, EC4A 1AB).
- Add the state only if your address format requires it.
- Upload a Recent Invoice Summary (RIS) from your current carrier (PDF, up to 3 MB). This is required to complete the request.
- Click Next.
Step 4: Authorization
- Review all the details you have entered.
- Under Letter of Authorization (LOA), sign the letter:
- Sign letter: enter the signer’s full name and email, then sign electronically.
- Send letter by email: the LOA is emailed to the recipient to sign outside the dashboard. Use this when the account holder is not the person using the dashboard.
- Check I confirm the information provided is accurate. The Submit porting request button stays disabled until the LOA is completed and this box is checked.
- Click Submit porting request.
Important: The LOA is a legal requirement. The request cannot be submitted without a signed LOA from an authorised representative.
After submission
Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming that your request is being processed. Our carrier will then submit your request to your current provider, and we will inform you of any updates regarding acceptances or rejections through your Aircall Dashboard.
Tracking your request
Track the progress of your request at any time in Aircall Dashboard > Numbers > Porting requests by clicking on your porting request.
Porting stages
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Request received | Aircall reviews your submission and signed LOA. |
| Submitted to carrier | Request is sent to your current provider for approval. |
| FOC date confirmed (Porting Scheduled) | A Firm Order Commitment date is scheduled and shared with you. The porting request is accepted and the numbers will be ported on this date. |
| Port completes | Numbers are transferred, with possible brief downtime. |
| Use your numbers | Assign numbers to users, IVRs, or call flows. |
Until completion, your numbers remain active with your current provider.
If your porting request is rejected
If your current provider rejects your request, a support ticket will be created on your behalf and we will let you know the next steps. You can view that ticket from Aircall Dashboard > Numbers > Porting requests by clicking View ticket in the Support ticket column.
