Each month, Aircall issues an invoice that includes charges related to your eSIM add-on(s). These charges are calculated according to your contract terms. eSIM billing consists of two distinct components: a fixed monthly/annual add-on fee (depending on your plan frequency) and variable usage charges. This article explains how eSIM charges are structured, how to review your usage, and how to manage your costs effectively.

Important:
• eSIMs are currently available for French mobile numbers only.
• The eSIM add-on is a Provisioned Add-on: licenses are assigned per eSIM provisioned, not per Aircall user license. See
Understanding Provisioned Add-ons in Aircall for full details on the provisioned model.

Reviewing your eSIM usage

You can review your eSIM activity in your usage report, available under the Billing tab in your Aircall Dashboard.

Important:
• Only users with Owner permissions can access the Billing tab from the Aircall Dashboard.
• Usage reports are available for 90 days. If you need data older than this period, please submit your inquiry to
our Customer Support team.

Steps:

  1. Go to Billing > Invoices in your Aircall Dashboard.
  2. Download the usage report for the relevant billing period.
  3. Open the file and filter the Type column to display only eSIM-related entries.
  4. Use the Description column to distinguish between add-on fees and usage charges (calls, messages).
  5. Review the Quantity and Unit price columns to calculate your total eSIM spend.

Tip:
• Invoices cover the previous month's usage. For example, an invoice issued on 14 May 2025 includes eSIM usage from 14 April to 13 May 2025.
• To track eSIM usage per license, filter the usage report by the French mobile number assigned to the eSIM: use the From number column for outbound calls and SMS, or the To number column for inbound activity.

Understanding eSIM pricing

Note: All price examples in this article are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect actual rates.

eSIM pricing depends on the data package selected at the time of provisioning. Three configurations are available:

Note: eSIM calls do not require an internet connection. You can make and receive Aircall calls without mobile data or Wi-Fi regardless of the data package selected.

Viewing eSIM charges on your invoice

Your invoice provides a complete breakdown of eSIM charges for the billing period. Each eSIM number generates two distinct charge types: a fixed licence fee and variable usage charges based on actual activity.

  • eSIM add-on fee: A fixed charge billed per eSIM licence provisioned, monthly or annually depending on your plan frequency. If your account has 3 eSIM add-ons contracted at the same time, they appear as a single line with quantity 3. If licences were provisioned on different dates, each appears as a separate line with its own billing period. This charge applies regardless of usage.
  • eSIM usage charges: Variable charges for outbound calls and messages made via the eSIM line during the billing period.

On your invoice, the eSIM add-on appears under the Add-ons & Bundles section: this represents the licence fee for your eSIM number. Any associated usage (calls and messages) generated through that eSIM is billed separately under the Usage from Previous Month section.

Checking if your plan includes the eSIM add-on and its cost

Only Owners can confirm plan details via the Plan tab. For details, see Understanding your subscription and Aircall plan.

To confirm the number of eSIM licences included on your account and their applicable rates, go to your Aircall account, navigate to your Plan tab and scroll to the Add-ons section. The unit price for each eSIM licence is displayed under the Plan Cost column.

To use an eSIM in Aircall:

  • Your workspace must have the eSIM add-on enabled.
  • The add-on is provisioned per eSIM licence: the number of licences included on your account determines how many times the add-on fee is billed, independently of your Aircall user licence count.
  • The fixed fee applies regardless of usage volume.
  • The agent's device must support eSIM technology.
  • The number must be a French mobile number.

If you cannot access your dashboard or need clarification on your pricing terms, contact our Account Management team.

Note: Pricing may vary based on your contract terms and selected data option. eSIM usage charges are not included in Aircall call bundles.
Important: Purchasing the eSIM add-on does not include a call or message bundle. All voice and message usage is billed separately and in addition to the add-on fee.

Optimizing your eSIM consumption

To manage and reduce eSIM-related costs, follow these best practices:

  • Avoid over-provisioning: select the appropriate add-on tier based on each agent's actual needs, and only provision eSIM licences for users who require them. eSIM add-ons are tied to your subscription commitment and can only be removed at the end of your billing cycle.
  • Monitor monthly usage reports to identify agents with low eSIM activity and assess whether the add-on is justified ahead of your next renewal.
  • Track month-over-month trends using the usage report to compare call and message consumption per eSIM number.
Important: If you wish to remove an eSIM add-on at the end of your commitment period, please contact our Account Management team. Removal requests are subject to your contract terms and cannot be processed mid-cycle.
