This article explains how to configure a Jabra device for use with Aircall Workspace. You'll install Jabra Direct, connect your device, and select it in Aircall Workspace to get audio working correctly. If you want to use headset buttons to control calls, this guide also covers how to enable that.

What you need

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

Note: To use headset buttons (answer, hang up, mute) with Aircall Workspace Desktop App, please see the article Headset controls with Aircall to confirm your device is compatible before continuing.

Step 1: Install Jabra Direct

  1. Download Jabra Direct from jabra.com/software-and-services/jabra-direct.
  2. Install and launch the application.
Note: Jabra Direct will automatically prompt you to install the required drivers the first time you connect your device.

Step 2: Connect your Jabra device

  1. Plug your Jabra device (USB headset or Link dongle) into a USB port on your computer.
  2. Jabra Direct will detect the device and display it in the device list.
  3. Aircall Workspace will appear in the list of available softphones. It may show as Not Ready at this stage, this is expected and will resolve once the device is selected in Aircall Workspace.

Step 3: Pair your headset to the dongle (wireless only)

If you are using a wireless headset with a Jabra Link dongle, pair the headset to the dongle before continuing.

Steps:

  1. In Jabra Direct, click Pairing in the left sidebar.
  2. Follow the pairing instructions for your headset model. Typically, this means holding the pairing button on the headset while the dongle is in pairing mode.
  3. Confirm that the paired headset appears under Paired devices with the status Connected.

Step 4: Enable remote controls

  1. In Jabra Direct, select your device and click Settings.
  2. Open the Softphone (PC) tab.
  3. Enable Softphone integration (Bluetooth) to allow your device to send call control events to Aircall. This lets you answer, end, and mute calls directly from your headset buttons.

Note: For wireless headsets with a dongle, this setting is on the dongle. For USB headsets, it is on the headset itself.

Step 5: Adjust device settings (optional)

  1. In Jabra Direct, open the settings for your device.
  2. Review and adjust settings as needed. For example, setting a longer Auto Sleep timer prevents the headset from switching off automatically during extended use.

Step 6: Select the device in Aircall Workspace

  1. Open Aircall Workspace.
  2. Go to Settings > Audio Settings.
  3. Under Input and Output, select your Jabra device explicitly.

Tip: If you experience audio issues, try selecting your Jabra device explicitly instead of using the Default or Communications option. This prevents audio conflicts when the same headset is shared across multiple softphones.

Device compatibility

For a full list of Jabra headsets and dongles supported with Aircall, refer to Headset controls with Aircall.

Important: Physical headset controls (answer, hang up, mute) are only available in the Aircall Workspace Desktop App. They are not supported in the web browser version of Aircall Workspace or in the Aircall Mobile App.

"Not officially supported" warning in Jabra Direct

When pairing certain headsets in Jabra Direct, you may see a message stating that your device is not officially supported with the Jabra Link 390 Bluetooth adapter, and recommending you use an earlier Jabra Link model instead.

This warning means Jabra has not certified that specific headset and dongle combination. It does not necessarily prevent the headset from working with Aircall. If you encounter this warning, you can dismiss it and continue setup. If you experience connection instability or call control issues, try switching to a Jabra Link 380 as suggested.
