To ensure you do not miss important calls or alerts when using Aircall in your browser, you must configure macOS notification settings correctly. This includes setting permissions for both Google Chrome and Google Chrome Helper, which are responsible for delivering notifications for Aircall Web.

This guide walks you through the required macOS and Chrome settings, testing steps, and troubleshooting tips.

Step 1: Configure macOS notification center settings

Start by adjusting notification permissions in macOS.

Steps

  1. Open System Settings.

  2. Go to Notifications.

  3. Enable the following options:

    • Allow notifications when display is sleeping

    • Allow notifications when screen is locked

  4. In the app list, locate and select:

    • Google Chrome

    • Google Chrome Helper

Note: Google Chrome Helper appears only after it has attempted to display a notification. You can trigger this by receiving a call or voicemail in the Aircall Web app.
  1. For each app, apply the following settings:

    • Allow notifications: Enabled

    • Show previews: Always, or When Unlocked based on your preference

    • Allow notifications when display is sleeping: Enabled

    • Allow notifications when screen is locked: Enabled

    • Notification style: Alerts

Tip: Using the Alerts notification style ensures notifications remain visible until you interact with them.

Step 2: Set site permissions in Google Chrome

Chrome must also be allowed to display notifications from Aircall.

Steps

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Navigate to the Aircall Web app.

  3. Click the site permissions icon in the address bar.

  4. Make sure Notifications are allowed.

  2. Receive a test call or voicemail.
