The in-call view in Aircall Workspace provides quick access to essential call controls, making it easier to manage live conversations and collaborate efficiently. Each control in the call toolbar allows you to perform actions such as muting, transferring, tagging, or adjusting device settings, all within a single interface.
In-call toolbar overview
During an active call, you’ll see several control buttons in the call toolbar.
Here’s what each one does:
Mute
With the Mute button you can turn your microphone off or back on so the other party cannot hear you.
Hold
By clicking on the Hold button you can pause the conversation by placing the call on hold.
Keypad
Click on the dial pad to enter digits or call another number during the call.
Record
With the recording button you can start or stop recording the conversation for later review.
Note: Recording must be enabled for the number in your Aircall account settings for this option to appear.
Add to call
Add one or more participants to the call to create a conference call. Once you click on the Add (+) button, you will be able to search for a participant name or number.
Transfer
Transfer the call to a teammate, an external number, or a team.
- Cold transfer: Send the call directly without speaking to the recipient.
- Warm transfer: Choose Talk first to speak with the recipient before completing the transfer.
Once you click on the Transfer button, you will be able to search for a participant name or number.
Tag & Notes
Add tags and notes to capture key details or context about the conversation.
Voicemail drop
Leave a pre-recorded voicemail if your outbound call is unanswered. You can use the default voicemail or select a custom one from your list.
Hang up
End the call and disconnect the line.
Open in floating window
Detach the call toolbar into a movable floating window that stays on top of other windows, allowing you to multitask while staying connected.
Note: The floating window (for both incoming and in-call views) always opens on the computer’s main display when using multiple monitors. This feature is only available in the downloaded desktop app.
Aircall number used
Hover over the toolbar to see which Aircall number is being used for the current call.
Device settings
Open audio and device settings to adjust your microphone, speaker, or headset while on a call.
Call quality indicators
View your network and call performance in real time. Indicators display:
- Connection type
- Overall call quality level
Note: Call quality indicators consider packet loss, jitter, and latency, but not bandwidth.
By becoming familiar with these in-call controls, you can handle calls more smoothly, ensure clear communication, and make the most of your Aircall Workspace experience.
