In some situations, enabling Noise cancellation in the Aircall desktop app can cause the application to crash during certain call actions, such as dialing out or receiving an inbound call.

This article explains why this can happen and how to resolve the issue.

Symptom

Users may experience the Aircall desktop app crashing when performing call actions, including:

  • Placing an outbound call.
  • Receiving an inbound call.

The issue occurs while Noise cancellation is enabled in the app settings.

Cause

Many headsets and audio devices include their own built-in noise cancellation. When noise cancellation is enabled both on the device and within the Aircall desktop app, the overlapping audio processing can cause conflicts that lead to instability or crashes.

For this reason, enabling additional noise cancellation in Aircall is not recommended when your headset or device already provides this feature.

Solution

Disable noise cancellation in the Aircall Worspace desktop app.

Steps

  1. Open the Aircall desktop app.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Select Preferences.
  4. Open Sounds.
  5. Disable Noise cancellation.
Tip: If your headset includes built-in noise cancellation, rely on the device’s feature instead of enabling noise cancellation in Aircall.

After disabling noise cancellation, restart the Aircall app and test making or receiving calls to confirm the issue is resolved.
