This article explains how to set up, select, and test your headset in the Aircall app. You can choose a new audio device, adjust your audio preferences, and enable advanced sound options to improve call quality.

Selecting a new headset

When you connect a new headset, Aircall prompts you to select it. Once you choose Use it, the device is saved in your Aircall settings and will be used automatically for future calls.

Important: If you want to remove a saved device preference, switch your audio selection back to your computer settings. The previously selected device will then be removed.

Configuring and testing your headset

You can test your microphone and speakers, and update your audio device preferences, in the Sounds section of the app.

Steps:

  1. Open the Settings page by clicking the User icon in the bottom right corner of the app.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Sounds.
  4. From this tab, you can:
  • Test your microphone.
  • Test your speakers.
  • Change your microphone and speaker device selections.
Important: If you choose to use your computer settings, Aircall follows the device selected in your operating system. If you manually select a device in Aircall, the app ignores your computer settings and continues using the selected device whenever it is plugged in.
Note: Volume levels cannot be adjusted within Aircall. Manage volume directly in your computer's sound preferences.

Automatically adjust microphone volume: Enable this only when you are not using a headset. When active, Aircall automatically balances your microphone volume while you speak through your computer speakers.

Advanced sound processing: This feature reduces background noise and echo. Use it only when you are using a USB headset.
