If you need to remove a phone number from your Aircall account, you can delete it at any time from the Aircall Dashboard. Only admins are allowed to perform this action.
Deleting a number is permanent for the number itself and its related data, so be sure to review the notes below before proceeding.
Delete an Aircall number from the Dashboard
- Go to Aircall Dashboard > Numbers.
- Select the number you would like to delete.
- You can also search for the number using the search bar on the right-hand side of the screen.
- Open the Settings tab for that number.
- At the bottom of the page, click Delete number.
- A popup window will appear asking you to confirm the deletion.
- Click Delete to confirm.
Important: Make sure you are completely certain that you want to delete the number before confirming.
Once a number is deleted, all associated recording links will stop working.
Data, recovery, and reporting impact
There is a very short recovery window for numbers that have been deleted by mistake. During this time, Customer Support team may be able to help you recover the number, but:
- Deleted data cannot be recovered: Call logs, call recordings, and any other data linked to the deleted number are permanently lost.

Important: Any call recording links included in your export will no longer work after the number is deleted.
Even after deletion:
- The deleted number will still appear in historical data on the Overview, Analytics+, and Monitoring pages.
- This is to preserve data integrity in your reports and analytics.
- If needed, recordings can be requested by contacting Customer Support team. The call recordings are retained in Aircall’s storage based on the type of subscription:
- Essentials plan: Recordings can be retrieved up to 1 year back from the date of your request.
- Professional plan: As far back as recordings are stored, unless they have been explicitly deleted (GDPR, manual deletion) via previous requests.
- In case of a deactivated account, there is a 30 days’ window to request the call recording data, after which all data will be deleted permanently.
