Symptom
Users need to delete a specific component in the call distribution flow but encounter an issue where deleting a component also removes all subsequent components connected to it in the flow.
Cause
This behavior occurs because the current design of the call distribution flow in Aircall treats each component as part of a linear sequence. Deleting a component results in the deletion of all downstream steps, as they are considered dependent on the preceding element.
Solution
To delete an individual component without removing subsequent steps:
- Log in to the Aircall Dashboard.
- Navigate to the Number you wish to configure and access its Call Distribution tab.
- Identify the component you want to delete. In the example, a 'Date Rule' widget is used.
- Before deleting the 'Date Rule' widget, copy and paste the steps positioned above the widget to a new position that will not be affected by the deletion. To do this:
- Click on the step to be copied (e.g., 'Time Rule').
- Select the copy step option available.
- Paste the step above the 'Date Rule' widget.
- Once this step is replicated, you can proceed to delete the 'Date Rule' widget that is now at the end of your call distribution.
- Continue with any additional setup as needed.
