Aircall Smartflows templates allow users with admin roles to quickly create or modify call distribution configurations using pre-built flow designs. This feature helps streamline setup, ensuring efficient and consistent call routing across your numbers.
Overview
Users with admin roles can use default templates when setting up a call distribution for the first time or when editing an existing configuration. Templates simplify call routing setup by automatically generating commonly used flow structures that can be customized as needed.
Available templates
There are three templates available:
- Direct line: it creates a simple configuration that includes a welcome message and a Ring to widget which needs to be configured.
- Business Hours: it builds a flow with a Time Rule widget, a Ring to widget, and a Voicemail widget.
- IVR Call routing: it generates a multi-branch routing flow to manage specific call routing scenarios.
Once you select a template, it will populate automatically in the editor for further customization.
Using templates for a new call distribution
When an admin user edits a number for the first time, three options appear:
- Use a template
- Import an existing configuration
- Start from scratch
To quickly build your call flow, select Use a template and choose from the available templates.
Using templates to edit an existing call distribution
Admin users can also apply templates when editing an existing Smartflow. While editing a configuration, select Build from > Templates and choose from the available templates.
Important: Selecting a template while editing will overwrite the existing configuration.
To revert to your previous setup, exit the configuration and discard the changes before publishing the new one. This behavior is the same as when duplicating a flow.
Using Smartflows templates saves time and ensures that call flows follow a clear, reliable structure that can be easily customized for your team’s needs.
