Information a Valid Proof of Payment Should Include:
Payer and Payee Information:
Name of the payer (person or company making the payment).
Name of the payee (person or company receiving the payment).
Transaction Date:
The date on which the payment was made.
Transaction Amount & currency:
The exact amount of money that was paid and the currency used for the payment.
Unique Transaction Identifier:
A reference number or transaction ID that is unique to the payment.
Payment Description:
A brief description of what the payment was for (e.g., invoice number, purchase details, services rendered).
Bank Details:
Bank account details of the payer or payee.
Confirmation from the bank of the transfer.
Examples of Valid Proofs of Payment
Bank Statements:
Statement showing the debit from the payer’s account and credit to the payee’s account.
Credit Card Statements:
Statement showing the charge to the payer’s credit card.
Remittance advice:
Document sent by a customer to a supplier, detailing the payment of an invoice. It typically includes information such as the amount paid, the invoice number, and the date of the payment.
