If you are receiving unwanted or spam calls to your Aircall numbers, you can stop them by using the Blocklist feature. When a number on the blocklist attempts to call your Aircall lines, an automated message will notify the caller that the number is unavailable. Blocked calls will appear in Live Monitoring but not in Analytics dashboards.

Important: You may not be able to add some numbers directly through the blocklist feature. If you cannot add a number, please contact our Customer Support team for assistance.
Note: Anonymous numbers cannot be blocked through the Aircall Dashboard, and Aircall Support cannot block them either.

Currently, it is not possible to add multiple numbers to your blocklist at the same time or to block entire number ranges (for example, all numbers from a specific city or country) simultaneously.

Note: You can block multiple numbers, but each number must be added to the blocklist individually.

Why can’t I block a certain number?

If you are unable to block a number, you may see an error such as:

  • The value entered is invalid
  • The value entered does not match the correct format
  • The value entered is too short

Cause

Aircall only allows numbers with valid country codes and formats to be added to the blocklist. Certain country codes, such as +808, or unsupported number formats cannot be added directly from the Aircall Dashboard.

Why am I receiving calls from strange numbers?

When a call is transmitted, the Caller ID information passes through multiple carriers before reaching Aircall. We standardize the incoming number to the E.164 format, but as carriers use different formatting systems, the caller ID can sometimes be altered during transmission.

When this occurs, Aircall displays the caller ID exactly as it is received from the carrier. Unfortunately, it is not possible to modify or retrieve the original number if the external carrier has masked or reformatted it.

Below are some examples of caller IDs that may appear unusual:

Displayed Caller IDPossible Display
Restricted737874 2833
Blocked256-2533
Unknown865-6696
Anonymous266696687
Unavailable86282452253

These types of caller IDs are often seen when the caller is using a VoIP service.

Note: The original calling number cannot be retrieved because it is masked by the external carrier. Aircall’s carriers do not have access to this information.

If you are receiving calls from a strange number that cannot be added to your blocklist, please contact our Customer Support team. Our team can help block calls from non-valid or masked numbers.
