What is E.164?
E.164 is an internationally-recognized standard phone number format that will help to ensure the deliverability of calls by ensuring that each device on the PSTN has a globally unique number.
E.164 numbers are formatted [+] [country code] [subscriber number including area code] and can have a maximum of fifteen digits.

E.164 phone number formatting requires the following:

A + (plus) sign

International Country Calling code
-
Local Area code
-
Local Phone number

When calling from a mobile or landline, international dialing rules can vary depending on the caller's location and the call destination.
