When calls on a Smartflows line unexpectedly drop without notice to callers, it usually indicates that the call flow has reached its end without a widget to handle the next step.

Symptom

Calls placed to your Smartflows number disconnect suddenly, without any message or redirection for the caller.

Cause

This can happen when the call flow contains only a Ring To widget with a single agent, and no additional widgets configured after it.

When that agent is unavailable (busy, offline, or logged out), the call has nowhere else to go and is automatically disconnected.

Note: A Smartflows line configured only with a single agent and no Voicemail or Audio widget will end the call immediately if that agent cannot be reached.

Solution

Add an additional widget to handle calls when no one is available. For example:

  • An Audio widget to play a message informing the caller that no one is available.

  • A Voicemail widget to allow callers to leave a message.

This ensures that calls do not drop unexpectedly and that callers receive a clear outcome.

Tip: If you continue to experience dropped calls after adding additional widgets, please contact our Customer Support team. Provide the affected phone number and 2–3 Call UUIDs of the dropped calls to help us investigate further.
