The Aircall Now app allows you to start a call with customers directly from a conversation in Intercom Messenger. This article explains how to install, upgrade, and use Aircall Now seamlessly within Intercom.
Note: Aircall Now is currently available in English only.
Upgrading to Aircall Now V2
A new version of the Aircall Now integration became available on September 25, 2023. If you installed an earlier version, you must update to Aircall Now V2 by December 24, 2023 to continue using the service.
Upgrading takes less than five minutes and is a one-time process.
Steps:
- Log in to your Intercom account and open the Intercom Messenger Marketplace.
- Search for the Aircall Now V2 application.
- Go to Your Installed Apps and locate Aircall Now (not V2).
- Select Uninstall on the right-hand panel.
- Return to the Marketplace and install Aircall Now V2.
Setting up Aircall Now on Intercom
Before installing, make sure all conditions below are met.
Important: You must:
• Have active subscriptions for both Intercom and Aircall
• Be an Admin on both Intercom and Aircall
• Use the same email address on both platforms
• Use Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop computer (both you and your customers)
If you do not yet have accounts, you can sign up for a trial with Intercom and Aircall before continuing.
Steps:
- Log in to your Intercom account and open the Intercom Messenger Marketplace.
- Search for the Aircall Now app.
- Click Install Now.
- Confirm the installation by clicking Connect.
Once connected, the Aircall Now app will be ready for use in your Intercom Messenger conversations.
Starting a call with Aircall Now
When chatting with a customer in Intercom Messenger, you can initiate a call instantly.
Steps:
- In your Intercom conversation, click Add an app.
- Select the Aircall Now app.
- Once the Aircall Now card appears, click Send.
Your customer will receive an invitation in the Intercom chat to join a call. When they click the button, a live Aircall session will begin immediately.
Ensuring successful installation and calls
Note: Check the following points before starting a call:
• The customer must grant microphone access when prompted at the start of a call.
• The customer’s webpage must use HTTPS (not HTTP), otherwise the call will fail to launch.
• Both the customer and agent should avoid refreshing or navigating away from the page during the call to prevent disconnection.
With Aircall Now integrated into Intercom Messenger, you can connect with your customers faster and resolve conversations in real time.
