What is a Provisioned Add-on?
Provisioned Add-on in Aircall refers to a license-based model where specific add-on features are assigned to individual users rather than being automatically applied to all users on an account. Currently, this functionality applies to WhatsApp and AI Assist.
For a deeper dive into the mechanics of how these add-ons work, please refer to our article: Add-on Provisioning - How it Works
To check if your account includes a Provisioned Add-on:
- Log in to your Aircall account (user with owner permissions).
- Click on your company name in the lower-left corner.
- Navigate to the Plan tab.
- Review the Add-on section in the overview table.
Here, you can observe that the client's account is configured with 3 users and a single WhatsApp add-on.
ℹ️ To view add-on pricing, visit Aircall's pricing page. First, select your company's location (e.g., "France"), then scroll to the "Unlock more from your calls" section to find details on "AI Assist" or "WhatsApp in Aircall." For specific pricing inquiries, please reach out to your account manager.
Initial Amendment Invoice
When you first purchase a Provisioned Add-on, you'll receive a one-time "amendment invoice." This separate invoice covers the charge for the new add-on from the purchase date until the end of your current billing cycle (either monthly or annual).
Consolidated Billing
For Monthly billed clients: Following the initial amendment invoice, charges for Provisioned Add-ons will be consolidated with your fixed recurring charges on your regular monthly invoice. This means you will receive a single, unified invoice for your base plan, consumption, and all Provisioned Add-ons, with the add-on charge repeating each month.
For Annually billed clients: Following the initial amendment invoice (which covers up to the end of your current annual billing cycle), you won't see this item repeated in your following month usage invoices.
Example Billing Scenario (Monthly Billed Client)
Imagine your monthly billing cycle starts on the 10th of each month. If you self-purchase a WhatsApp add-on on June 11, 2025:
- Amendment Invoice: You will immediately receive a separate amendment invoice for the WhatsApp add-on, covering the period from June 11, 2025, to July 9, 2025.
- Consolidated Invoice: From your next regular billing cycle (starting July 10, 2025), the WhatsApp add-on charge (system integration price plus message consumption) will be included on the same invoice as your base plan and any other consumption charges, and this charge will repeat monthly.
Commitment of Provisioned Add-ons
Once a Provisioned Add-on is added to your account, it cannot be removed during your current plan commitment period. The add-on will follow the commitment terms of your main plan. If you wish to discuss removing an add-on, please contact your account manager. You can find more information on how to proceed in our article: How to contact my account manager?
How to Identify Provisioned Add-on Charges on Your Invoice
Provisioned Add-ons will be listed as separate line items on your invoice once consolidated. The initial amendment invoice will specifically detail the newly purchased add-on and its prorated charge.
You'll find the line item for your Provisioned Add-on located under the Users and Numbers section of your invoice, specifically listed as WhatsApp in Aircall (or Aircall AI, depending on your add-on).
Important Note on WhatsApp Consumption-Based Charges
In addition to the add-on system integration price, WhatsApp Add-ons also incur consumption-based charges. You will be billed for each message delivered, with the price varying depending on the recipient's country and the message category.
AI Assist incurs a system integration cost only and is not linked to consumption charges.

FAQs
Q: Why do I receive a separate "amendment invoice" for new Provisioned Add-ons?
The amendment invoice is issued because the purchase occurs outside your current billing cycle. It covers the prorated charge for the add-on until your next regular billing period begins, after which all charges are consolidated.
Q: If I'm an annually billed client, will Provisioned Add-ons appear on my monthly invoice?
No. For annually billed clients, Provisioned Add-ons will only appear on the initial amendment invoice. This invoice covers the cost of the add-ons for the remainder of your current annual billing cycle.
Q: Can I remove a Provisioned Add-on after purchasing it?
Once a Provisioned Add-on is added to your account, it is subject to your main plan's commitment period and cannot be removed before the end of that period. For inquiries about removing add-ons, please reach out to your Account Manager.
Q: Is "Add-on Provisioning" available for all Aircall add-ons?
No, currently, Add-on Provisioning is specifically for WhatsApp and AI Assist, allowing you to assign these features to individual users.
Q: How are consumption charges for WhatsApp billed?
For WhatsApp, you are billed for message consumption, with prices varying by your account's registered country and the type of messages sent, in addition to the add-on system integration price. These consumption charges will appear on your regular monthly invoices.
