Unable to call Indian toll-free numbers from the Aircall phone.
Users are unable to call Indian numbers from their Aircall Indian numbers.
Cause
Indian toll-free numbers (for example: 000 800) cannot be called from Aircall at present, as they require to be called with a special national format which is not compliant with e.164 standards.
Aircall requires e.164 formatted numbers to successfully make calls.
Due to a regulatory change in India, downstream carriers will also no longer terminate national traffic originated from outside the country unless it is genuine roaming traffic. As Aircall is a cloud-based solution, it cannot meet this requirement at the moment.
Solution
At present, there is no known workaround for calling Indian toll-free numbers. You will need to check with the callee, to identify a phone number in an alternative format to be called.
For calling other Indian numbers from Aircall, please do so from non-Indian Aircall numbers to avoid reachability problems.
